A "drive in, drive out" commission — the car arrived running, but a pre-purchase compression check told a different story, finding low compression that meant a full engine rebuild before anything else could begin.

From there, the shell went back to bare metal by soda blasting. New wheel tubs, inner wings, floor pans, chassis rails, jacking points and bulkhead were fabricated in house, and the body was levelled until every panel gap read 4mm — ready for a custom pearl-effect colour commissioned by the client.

Mechanically, the car gets a single-piece bumper conversion in place of the factory design, a power-steering conversion, and poly bushes with new bearings throughout. Unique — no other example has been restored to this standard. It's now in reassembly, after a full body rebuild and repaint — the photographs here show the car as it stands, not as it will finish.

Ask for David Pearce-Martin. He would rather see a car than quote from photographs of one, so the first conversation usually ends with a date to bring it over. Dave, Ellis and Paul are who you will meet when you do.
